Twitter for teachers I recognize that this tip is not for everyone, but while we are all isolated at home and missing our community, it might be the right time to expand your community albeit virtually. Why am I suggesting you get a Twitter account? Joining #teacher Twitter was an assignment in my graduate program and I have to say it has paid off. As a new teacher Twitter has helped me build Professional Learning Communities focused on Racial Justice and Mathematics. I have made connections with people all over the world, gotten questions answered in the middle of the night, and learned a lot from a diverse group of educators.

Shutdown your computer from time to time When was the last time you shut your computer down? A quick tip but an important one, be sure to manually shutdown your computer from time to time. Aim for at least once a week. This can help limit problems such as slow speeds or application crashes. Nearpod Add on for Google Slides If you’re new to nearpod and more comfortable with google slides, the nearpod add on may be for you. This allows you to create a slideshow as you normally would in google slides and insert nearpod activities. Note: The final product must be run by going through nearpod.com, not through slides
You can choose to create new presentations from scratch or add nearpod activities into your pre-existing slides.
